Riding Modes and Technology

The engine management offers four riding modes: Rain, Sport, Race, and Slick. These control the variable-length intake pipes, ABS, and optional traction control. In Rain mode, maximum power is reduced to 110 kW (150 hp), and from the 2012 model onwards, to 163 hp. The Slick mode is only activated after inserting a coding plug.

HP4 Model

For the 2013 season, the top model of the S 1000 series, the HP4, was introduced. The tail fairing is just one of many high-quality carbon components from Ilmberger.
